Precautions in the use of color card printing
Bright images containing large areas of solid color blocks are most suitable for using fluorescent ink. If this ink is used in dark images with a lot of shadows, it may lose some of the texture and contrast.
The price of fluorescent ink is about 20% higher than that of regular ink. However, the proportion of ink in the total cost of a printed work piece is very small.
Yellow and magenta fluorescent inks have the strongest impact force, while blue inks have the weakest effect. Be careful when choosing the coating method for fluorescent ink. Water-based coating is more prone to fading fluorescent ink than glossy coating. However, no matter which method is chosen, the coating will have an impact on the effect of fluorescent ink.
Fluorescent ink cannot accurately inspect images. So it is necessary to inspect the image on the printing machine, as fluorescent ink is likely to have slight color deviation during the printing process.
Due to the relatively shallow ink, printing factories often increase the ink supply to the printing machine in order to print brighter colors.
These "ever-changing" pigments are most suitable for printing promotional materials with strong impact for short-term use, as they easily fade.
Although fluorescent ink is very bright, there is no need to give up shadows. The reason why fluorescent inks look brighter is because they use a large proportion of spectral colors, including UV light. They convert the wavelength of UV light into visible light, thereby reflecting more colors into the eyes. Fluorescent ink is made from fluorescent dyes and resins. Fluorescent dyes can make ink brighter, but if resin is not added to the solution, they cannot emit fluorescence.
